What we collect, in full.
LensSentry is a personal privacy tool that detects nearby camera-equipped smart glasses. It is built so that the least possible data leaves your device: the app is fully functional offline.
Bluetooth scanning
LensSentry passively listens for Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements to recognize known smart-glasses signal patterns. Scanning is declared never for location: the app does not derive, collect, or store your location. Scan results are processed in memory on your device.
Camera verification
The optional camera verify mode analyzes frames on your device only. Images are never stored, logged, or transmitted; nothing from the camera leaves your phone.
Signature updates
The app periodically downloads an updated detection-signature list from our servers. This request carries no personal data or identifiers.
Optional fingerprint contribution (off by default)
If — and only if — you enable "Contribute anonymous fingerprints", the app sends the radio characteristics of a detected smart-glasses device to our servers to improve detection for everyone: the matched portion of the observed Bluetooth device name, manufacturer identifiers, service identifiers, and signal strength. Submissions contain no location, no hardware addresses, and no information about you or your phone beyond the app version and platform. Our systems refuse submissions containing hardware addresses. You can turn contribution off at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
The website
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics, provided by our host, to count page views and referrers. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, records no personally identifiable information, and counts visits using a hash derived from the request rather than by following you. Nothing is shared with advertising networks, and no consent banner is required. The analytics script is served from this domain, so no third party receives your request.
If you join the waitlist or the venue pilot list, we store exactly what you typed into that form plus a timestamp — nothing else, and never shared.
What we do not do
No advertising, no ad-tech SDKs, no cross-site tracking, no cookies, no accounts, no sale of data. The app itself sends no analytics of any kind.
